The fact that a certain vehicle is not listed does not mean it is not OBD-II compliant, or that it is not compatible with interfaces.
The list below is the general international list and may not apply to all South African cars as South African manufacturers do not have to comply with the OBD2 Standard (I've heard a rumour that compliance will be required from 2010). From experience with South African cars, we know that in general Mercedes Benz, Ford , Volkswagen , Audi , Subaru , Mazda ,Jeep , Chrysler, Toyota (1998-2004), Land Rover Freelander are OBD2 compliant , whereas in general , South African BMW , Opel and Nissan are not OBD2 compliant. Also since 2004 some manufacturers have implemented non OBD2 Compliant implementations of the CAN System. So for some makes (like BMW and Toyota ) some models will be compatible and some not !
So really the only way to know for sure if a car is
compatible is to plug it in and test it!!
