ELM 327

ELM327

The ELM 327 is a great entry level diagnostic tool
for small workshops that need to get into vehicle diagnostics.
This is a "universal" interface,
compatible with all OBD2 Protocols,
so it will work on most cars from 1998-2004 and some later.
This should be the ELM tool of choice for the
professional or workshop that deals with various cars.

Please note :
Even though this interface is compatible with all OBD2
Compliant vehicles,
all South African vehicles are not OBD2 compliant,
as a result it may not work with certain South African
produced vehicles.From experience with
South African users, we know that it does work
with the following makes in South Africa :
Mercedes Benz, Ford , Volkswagen , Audi , Subaru , Mazda ,
Jeep , Chrysler, Toyota (1998-2004), Land Rover Freelander,Isuzu,
Hyundai,Volvo(S40)

It does not work with most :BMW , Opel , Nissan , Late
model Toyotas,Land Rover(Discovery), Late model Volvo (V50 etc)
Makes not listed have not been tested.
We have not been able to test this interface with every
model of every make in South Africa and the above list is
based on the cars I've tested personally. In general if it
works on one model of a make it works on the others,
 but there are exeptions.
I have listed BMW as not compatible, as I tested
it on an E46 330d, but recently I used it on a 2000 E46 330i
and it worked perfectly!
So really the only way to know for sure if a car is
compatible is to plug it in and test it!!
