1. What is the Star Auto Scanner?
Star Auto Scanner is the most advanced handheld diagnostic scan tool for the aftermarket. It combines advanced hardware architecture with OEM-level vehicle communication software. The Star system consists of the main unit, a built-in printer, CF card reader, OEM and OBDII connectors and more.
2. I already own a scan tool. Why do I need the Star Auto Scanner?
Unlike any other scan tools, Star offers the following unique features:
• Most vehicle software are equipped with a "Quick Tests" function which enables Star to diagnose all or most common vehicle systems (such as engine, transmission, ABS, SRS, ..) in one click of a button.
• Exclusive 1-year FREE Internet software update which keeps Star from becoming obsolete with most current coverage and also provides a convenient and timely information access to all users.
3. Are there additional charges on software update on Star Auto Scanner?
Each Star comes with a 1-year FREE unlimited software update, which includes update on all existing software as well as future release of all new software. After the 1-year FREE update period, you can subscribe to one-year unlimited software update plan for a nominal fee.
4. How can I update the software for Star system?
All the latest software for Star are available for download . On Board Diagnostics South Africa will provide all information necessary to download updates.
5. What is the warranty for Star system?
Star system comes with a limited 6 month warranty against manufacturing defect(s) and malfunction(s).
